The Customer Service Center provided Johanna with a broad understanding of JYSK’s operations, with customer interactions spanning stores, logistics, B2B sales, and consumer authorities.
- "I learned to manage multiple systems and realized how quickly I can adapt to new things. The job prepared me for future roles and gave me the confidence to take on more responsibility. I became braver and understood that I can handle and succeed in many new challenges. What I love about JYSK is the flexibility to change roles, the strong support for learning, and the willingness of colleagues to help. Working in customer service revealed new strengths in me that I hadn’t seen before.”
Customer service work has strengthened Johanna’s self-confidence, resilience under pressure, and ability to take initiative. Through her role, she gained a deep understanding of JYSK’s business and the roles of different departments and stakeholders.
- "For me, customer service was a gateway to administrative roles. Once I got to see up close what working in administration and marketing was like at the head office—and at the same time made myself known to others—it was much easier to apply for new positions. I was already part of the team."
Johanna studied media, and a career in marketing had always been her dream. In 2018, she applied for and secured a new role as a Sales and Marketing Assistant in the Sales & Expansion department. In this new position, her working language became English, and her connections with international colleagues strengthened.
- "I finally got to pursue my dream and work in a field I’m passionate about. Campaign brochures, advertisements, visual content—it all fascinated me. I realized this was the direction I wanted to take and develop further."
In 2020, she took another career leap, stepping into the role of Social Media & Digital Coordinator, where she focused on digital marketing and social media.
JYSK’s company culture has left a strong impression on Johanna, turning what was initially meant to be a short-term job into a career path. Mentoring colleagues in Ukraine and Sweden has also given her a new perspective on her expertise.
- It has been incredibly rewarding to share my knowledge and support others. Mentoring has opened up new viewpoints for me and boosted my own professional confidence.
- I never imagined I would stay here for this long. I had no idea how many different opportunities JYSK offers. Over the past year, my role has evolved significantly due to the rapid development of digitalization. Every day, I get to challenge myself. My dream is to take on an even more international role, possibly as a manager or team leader. I’m also very interested in training others.
